Showa Era REPRODUCTION Parade and Festival Armor
Showa Era REPRODUCTION Parade and Festival Armor
Good condition overall with expected age-related wear. Structurally solid and suitable for both display and wear.
This full-sized samurai armor reproduction from the pre–World War II Shōwa era includes a helmet (kabuto), chestpiece (dō), and shoulder guards (sode). Constructed using traditional methods and materials, it reflects historical armor design while being intended for practical use in parades and public events.
Such armor was commonly used in ceremonial processions inspired by daimyo retinues, as well as in traditional events like the Soma Nomaoi, where participants wear armor in rituals rooted in samurai and Shinto traditions.
Though not an antique battlefield piece, this example represents an important continuation of Japanese cultural practice, where armor was recreated for performance, display, and heritage events.
A strong display piece with historical context, suitable for collectors of samurai culture, festival artifacts, and early 20th-century reproductions.
